The Springfield annual ski club trip was supposed to take place on Saturday, February 13th.  This event was cancelled due to the freezing temperatures and freezing rain. These conditions caused the roads to be very dangerous for the bus to drive on and was rescheduled for the following Saturday.

The new date is Saturday, February 17th. This will be Mr. Toy’s fifteenth year as the ski club adviser and he plans on continuing it.  Mr.Toy is in charge of collecting the the money for the trip which is a total of 80 dollars. The cost covers the students to be transported to and from Peek n Peak along with the ski rentals.

The students will arrive at Peek n Peak around 9:30 am and will leave around 6:30 pm. There is a total of forty five students participating in ski club so far. Mr. Toy started ski club to give students the opportunity to ski who maybe never have before and to provide students with a means to enjoy this wonderful sport.

Sometimes our athletes are ineligible to participate in ski club due to potential injuries that could occur and interfere with the season. Ski club gives students who are not as athletic or participating in sports or extracurricular activities the opportunity to do something outside of the school.
